New mutation to submit API feedback

šŸ·ļø API version: 2026-10

You can now report a bug, a missing capability, a documentation problem or general feedback about the monday API straight from the API, with the new submit_api_feedback mutation. Previously there was no in-API way to tell the API team what went wrong while you were building an integration.

The mutation takes a SubmitApiFeedbackInput and returns a SubmitApiFeedbackResult:

  • kind (required): bug when the API returned a wrong result or an unexpected error, feature_request when the API has no way to do an action you need, docs when the documentation is missing, wrong or unclear, or feedback for any other comment.
  • title (required): what you were trying to do, in plain words, 1-200 characters.
  • description (required): the details of the report, 1-3000 characters. Say what you tried, what you expected and what you got. For a feature_request, describe the action you need in monday product terms and say whether you found a workaround.
  • field_path (optional): the schema coordinate the report is about, for example Mutation.reorder_items or Item.column_values. If the field does not exist, give the name you expected.
  • error_code (optional): the error code you received, for example COMPLEXITY_BUDGET_EXHAUSTED.
  • request_id (optional): the request_id from the extensions of the earlier API call's response that the report is about.
  • outcome (optional): what you did next after you hit the problem: gave_up, performed_action_in_ui, worked_around_with_other_calls or other.

The result returns success, which is true when the report was accepted, and a feedback_id you can give when you follow up on the same report.

Do not include personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses or phone numbers in a report.

mutation {
  submit_api_feedback(
    input: {
      kind: feature_request
      title: "Move an item to the top of its group"
      description: "I looked for a way to reorder items within a group through the API and could not find one."
      field_path: "Mutation.reorder_items"
      outcome: performed_action_in_ui
    }
  ) {
    success
    feedback_id
  }
}

The mutation and its types (SubmitApiFeedbackInput, SubmitApiFeedbackResult, ApiFeedbackKind and ApiFeedbackOutcome) are additive, so existing queries and mutations are not affected. See the 2026-10 release notes for the full list of changes in this version.
