App management product (AMP)
App lifecycle events provide key insights into your app's activity (e.g., installs, trials, uninstalls, renewals). You can utilize these insights to provide quick and meaningful user interactions and optimize operational efficiency.
App Management Product (AMP) automates lifecycle event tracking and organizes the necessary information to quickly engage with users after an event in one centralized location. Leveraging these insights can streamline your operations, engage users more effectively, and drive better retention.
This guide will cover the key features of AMP and teach you how to implement it. Watch our webinar to see how to use it:
Key concepts
AMP is an app built by monday to manage app lifecycle events. Using automations, AMP logs all app lifecycle events as individual items in a monday board. This centralized board provides you with real-time insights into your app's lifecycle, allowing you to respond quickly to key events.
You can integrate this board with third-party services (e.g., Slack or Gmail) to receive notifications when an event or customer communication via email templates occurs so you don't miss any activities.
Email templates
The AMP board also includes a set of pre-configured onboarding emails, trial reminders, subscription updates, and uninstall follow-up email templates. These can be employed to boost user engagement and activity, reconnect with users, and create feedback loops.
Even though the templates are pre-configured, they should be customized according to your branding guidelines to provide a personalized experience for your users.
We provide the following templates:
Email type | Purpose | When to send |
---|---|---|
Welcome | To introduce the app's capabilities and provide users with onboarding instructions to get started | Immediately after the app is installed or a trial starts |
Follow-up during trial | To check in during the trial to keep them engaged and highlight key features or benefits | Midway through the trial period (e.g., 7 days after the trial starts) |
Trial ending soon | To notify users their trial is about to end and provide clear steps to subscribe | 2 days before the trial ends |
Trial ended | To reconnect with users after their trial ends, offer an easy way to subscribe, or an opportunity to share feedback | When the trial period ends |
Uninstall follow-up | To contact users who uninstalled the app, gather feedback, and open for re-engagement | After the app is uninstalled |
App rating request | To encourage users to rate the app and leave a review | 7 days after a subscription begins (or after enough usage) |
Renewal attempt failed | To notify users when a renewal attempt fails and prompt them to check their billing details | When the app_subscription_renewal_attempt_failed event is triggered |
Uninstall reasons
In addition to event logging and email templates, AMP also provides insights into why users are uninstalling your app. This information is compiled in the Uninstall reasons table located in the left-side menu under the App Lifecycle Events board. By analyzing these results, you can make data-driven decisions to refine your product, improve onboarding, or adjust pricing based on user feedback.
If you don’t see the Uninstall reasons table, follow these steps to activate it.
