After building your monday app, you can install it to use on your own account or share it with others. If you decide to share it, you can do so privately or publicly.

Install your app

You can install the app on your own account for testing or so other account members can use it in their workflows. The app will not be visible to any monday.com users outside of your account.

1. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner.

2. Select Developers. This will open the Developer Center in a new tab.

3. Create a new app or click on an existing one.

4. Navigate to the App versions tab.

5. Promote the current version of your app to live. To learn more about versioning, check out this article!

6. Navigate to the Install tab.

7. Click Install App.

Share your app

Private apps

Private apps are those developed for use inside the same monday account. Users outside of the account can't access or use the app, so they can't be publicly shared.

Public apps

Public apps are those developed for either internal or external account use. These apps can be used within the same account, shared with specific users in other accounts, or eventually listed publicly in the app marketplace after completing the review process.

Follow these steps to share your public app:

1. Complete steps 1-5 in the previous section.

2. Navigate to the Share tab.

3. Accept the developer terms and click Share App.

4. Copy the shareable URL and send it to your clients or users! You can select Share with specific monday accounts and list their account URLs if you want to restrict access to specific accounts.

5. Users can access the app through the marketplace once they install it on their account by clicking the Apps puzzle piece icon in the top left corner, navigating to Installed Apps, and locating the app in the Installed outside the marketplace section.

App marketplace

The app marketplace provides a centralized location for monday.com users to discover and install new applications that enhance their workflows. Listing your app in the marketplace is the best way to reach as many monday users as possible.

Each app is reviewed to help ensure compliance with our marketplace guidelines. Before submitting your app, we recommend verifying that it meets all requirements on our app review checklist.

Once you've completed the checklist, you can submit your app for approval. One of our team members will review your app and work directly with you through a shared board to address issues or concerns before approving it for the marketplace!

Community

You can still share your app publicly to reach new users if you don't want to list it in the marketplace! The process follows the same steps as sharing your app privately. From there, you can share the URL with anyone so they can install the app. We strongly encourage developers to reach even more users by sharing it in our monday community!

Please note that applications without monday approval will show a banner to indicate that the monday.com team hasn't vetted them (see below).
